Halfway to Heaven Mustang Rescue's mission is to care for, train, and provide a healthy, enriched environment for Mustangs in need. We prepare our horses for adoption into permanent, loving homes, and to be ambassadors for the great American horses of the west -the Mustangs! Although we do have two domestic horses in our care, our emphasis is on the wild Mustangs of the American West.
Wild Mustangs
The current number of Wild horses and burros living on public lands in the Western United States is estimated at 73,520. Our government, specifically the Bureau of Land Management, oversees these horses. In addition to the ones living free, there are currently over 60,000 wild horses in government holding facilities...
Your support provides care and training, that leads to an adoptable horse that otherwise might never have the opportunity to be someone's best friend.
Our Horses
Each of our horses is unique in mind, body and spirit. We honor that by treating them each as individuals. We know their likes and dislikes. We are in tune to their emotions. While with us, our Mustangs receive the best care possible including high quality food, farriery and veterinary services. We are also aware that they need emotional and behavioral care as well.
