Welcome
Halfway to Heaven Mustang Rescue's mission is multi-faceted. We care for, train, and provide a healthy, enriched environment for Mustangs in need. Training is designed to prepare adoptable horses for forever loving homes - utilizing science-based positive reinforcement methods. Horses that may not be a good fit for adoption serve as “Mustang Ambassadors” for the Wild and Free Roaming Horses of the American West. Another vital component of our mission is to educate children and adults about the history and status of these wonderful horses.

Wild Mustangs
The current number of Wild horses and burros living on public lands in the Western United States is estimated at 85,466. Our government, specifically the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), oversees these horses. In addition to the ones living free, there are currently over 65,000 wild horses in government holding facilities...

Your support provides care and training that leads to an adoptable horse that otherwise might never have the opportunity to be someone's best friend.
Our Horses
Each of our horses is unique in mind, body and spirit. We honor that by treating them each as individuals. We know their likes and dislikes. We are in tune to their emotions. While with us, our Mustangs receive the best care possible including high quality food, farriery and veterinary services. We are also aware, and provide for their emotional and behavioral needs as well.
