As a small rescue we rely on your donations
0% goes towards salaries—yes, zero! Any contribution, large or small, helps our horses, and we appreciate it immensely. The rescue is run totally by husband-and-wife team Lisa Mallory and Bill Finger and their volunteers.
Primary medical care, food, and farrier services for a horse without special needs are approximately $6,000 annually. Currently, we have nine horses to care for, one of which has special needs (about $12,000 annually), so their basic care for one year is over $60,000! That does not include all the farm maintenance, fuel, equipment, fence repair, stall maintenance, utilities, grooming equipment and products, fly spray, and many more incidental things it takes to run a horse rescue. Halfway to Heaven Rescue is completely dependent on donations from the public, and all donations are fully tax deductible.

Hay is the number one biggest expense at Halfway to Heaven Rescue. In the past two years the price of hay has increased tremendously. Its costs an average of $50 per day to feed our horses hay. That does not include the cost of their twice daily concentrated feed with vitamins, minerals and other supplements!
